Test & Trace - Face masks

The new government program of test and trace has made it necessary to dramatically change our practice consultation protocol.

The new regulations require that, as of 28th May, anyone testing positive for Covid-19 should disclose the identities of any people with whom they have been in contact, so that they themselves can be instructed to self isolate. The definition of "in contact" is within 2 metres for 15 minutes or more.

Consequently, only one client, who must wear a face mask will be permitted into the consulting rooms to facilitate an examination of their pet; where possible, nurses will assist the vet during the examination. Discussion of the case will be conducted with the client whist maintaining appropriate distancing rules in the consulting room.

I appreciate that this will appear strange to those who are familiar with my style of practice. Believe me, it will feel alien to me.

I am so sorry for this inconvenience, please bear with us.

Purple Vet is the only veterinary surgery in Rothwell to remain open throughout the Covid crisis - Help us to stay open. Protect us and we will protect your pets.

Jude and the team. (12th June)
